Flovent is a medication which used in the treatment of asthma. It does not help during an acute asthma attack. Flovent works by preventing and reducing inflammation within the nasal passages.

Dosage and direction
The dosage of Flovent varies from different factors inlude: age; the severity of your Asthma; Other medications you may be taking; So you may take this drugs just after doctor permission. Flovent inhalation aerosol is taken orally and shaking before each use. You should be taken deep breath and exhale then put your lips around the mouthpiece and depress the canister. Rinse your mouth with water without swallowing after each use. Avoid contacting with eyes.
Do not use Flovent if your asthma attack has already begun. Flovent does not work momentarily and should not be used for sudden attacks of breathing trouble.Use this medication regularly for the best result.
The recommended dose starting dose for adults and children over 12 years age is 44 mcg twice daily. Do not increase more than 220 mcg.
The recommended starting dose for children under 12 years age is two inhalations of Flovent 44 mcg twice daily. Do not increase more than 100 mcg.
Change your dosage if you have surgery, are ill, are under stress, or have recently had an asthma attack.

Tell your doctor if you have been sick or had an infection of any kind. Do not use Flovent until you are well. Consult with your doctor if your child is not growing at a normal rate, because Flovent can affect growth in children. Long-term use of steroids may caused osteoporosis, especially if you smoke, if you do not exercise, if you do not get enough vitamin D or calcium in your diet, or if you have a family history of osteoporosis.

Do not use Flovent if you are allergic to any ingredient in Flovent Aerosol Inhaler.
Do not use Flovent if you are having a severe asthma attack requiring quick relief.

Possible side effect
Immediately find medical help if you experience any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
More serious: weakness, tired feeling, nausea, vomiting, feeling like you might pass out;
- skin rash, bruising, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness;
- blurred vision, eye pain, or seeing halos around lights;
- signs of infection such as fever, chills, sore throat, ear pain, flu symptoms;
- wheezing or breathing problems after using this medication; or
- worsening asthma symptoms.
If you experience one of them stop using Flovent and tell your doctor as soon as possible. Also consult with your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual.

Drug Interactions
This drug should not be used with the following medications: aldesleukin, mifepristone.

An overdose of this medication is not likely to be harmful, but don't forget to consult with your doctor. But note that high steroid doses during long time can lead to symptoms such as thinning skin, easy bruising, changes in the shape or location of body fat, increased acne or facial hair, menstrual problems, impotence, or loss of interest in sex.

Missed dose
If you have forgotten to take your dose in time, please do it as soon as you remember. But do not take if it is too late or almost time for your next dose. Do not increase your recommended dose. Take your usually dose next day in the same regularly time.

Store at room temperature between 59-77 degrees F (15-25 degrees C) away from light and moisture, kids and pets. Do not use after expiration term.
